The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Silva sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Longbeach is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Silva decides to stand back up.
Longbeach misses with a takedown attempt

and Silva counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Longbeach!
Silva trying to control but Longbeach is having none of it.
Longbeach is trying desperately to improve position.
Silva tries to control but Longbeach wriggling away.

Silva prevents Longbeach from getting the reversal.

Silva looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Longbeach regains half guard.
Silva tries to pass the half guard into mount. Longbeach knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Longbeach keeps working.
Longbeach might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Longbeach gets back to full guard.

Longbeach can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Silva controls the pace.
Longbeach looking to hit a scissor sweep but Silva is one step ahead there.

Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Longbeach. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Silva wants to get up but he can't break Longbeach's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Silva tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Longbeach swivels and escapes.
Longbeach is looking to clinch.
Nice takedown defense from Silva. No joy for Longbeach on that attempt.

Silva shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Longbeach manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Longbeach trying to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andre Silva dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Longbeach on the wrong end of a nice hook.

Silva closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Silva stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Longbeach could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

so Silva counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Silva has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Longbeach is proving hard to escape from.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Silva wants to control from the top but Longbeach keeps moving.

Longbeach wants to sweep here but Silva controlling him for the moment.
Silva wanted to stand there but Longbeach had control of the position.

Longbeach is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Silva has his hands clasped together but Longbeach extends an breaks Silva's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Longbeach.
