Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sun Wukong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brutal Rees (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Rees's choice of entrance music: Soulfly-Frontlines. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sun Wukong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brutal Rees!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Summer Carpenter and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rees fails to land with a series of punches.
Rees misses with a body kick.
Wukong lunges at Rees with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Rees's hand.
Wukong will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Wukong - that will leave a mark!
Rees misses with a body kick.
Rees scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Rees throws a low kick, looking for Wukong's leg but Wukong calmly moves out of range.

Rees throws a big overhand right that connects, sending Wukong tumbling to the canvas!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rees postures up.
Rees is looking to work some ground and pound but Wukong has wrist control.
Rees in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Rees throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Wukong works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wukong controlling Rees's posture.
Rees is looking to stand up but Wukong won't let him.
Rees has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Rees sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Wukong's guard.

Rees is looking for a kimura but Wukong is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Rees to get the leverage.
Rees throws a strike but Wukong avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Wukong wants to sweep but no luck.
Wukong seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Rees pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wukong is keeping the position for now.
Wukong on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Wukong tries to get out of the position.
Rees throwing strikes but missing.
Rees stands up over Wukong, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Rees looking to pass the guard.
Wukong keeping moving, preventing Rees from controlling successfully.
Rees is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rees wants to control from the top but Wukong keeps moving.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Wukong controls Rees momentarily but Rees frees himself.
Wukong utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Rees blocks a head kick by Wukong.
Rees blocks a low kick nicely.
Wukong throws a leg kick which misses Rees's front leg but catches the back leg as Rees tries to avoid it.
A head kick misses from Wukong.
Rees wants to clinch.
Rees takes a head kick and keeps coming.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wukong dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Rees. That did some damage!
Rees throws a lazy head kick
and Wukong counters with a leg kick.
Wukong throws a sloppy head kick and Rees moves out of range easily.
Wukong misses with a head kick.
Wukong thuds his shin into the meat of Rees's side.
A nice leg kick lands there from Wukong.
Wukong lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Sun Wukong is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wukong uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rees.
Wukong buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Rees. Wukong does a little dance to reset his feet.
Rees tries to clinch but Wukong is having none of it.
Rees walks into a stiff left hand from Wukong.
Rees throws out a powerful jab.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Wukong uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rees.
Rees has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Wukong.
Rees looks gassed!
Rees rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wukong moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Wukong lets loose with a powerful body kick. Rees will feel that in the morning.
Wukong throws a nice inside leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sun Wukong dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Wukong throws a quick inside leg kick.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Rees crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Wukong - the referee stops the clock and Rees gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Wukong. Rees manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Nice straight punches there by Wukong. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Wukong.
Brutal Rees seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wukong connects with a high kick.
Rees misses with a body shot.
Wukong lands a high kick!


Rees is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Whack! Wukong lands a heavy head kick that drops Rees. The ref tackles Wukong to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Rees was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Sun Wukong!
