Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Stanzi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeremy Perkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ricky Stanzi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeremy Perkins!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, John Kavanagh and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stanzi shoots in looking for a takedown. Perkins tries to sprawl out of it but Stanzi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Perkins manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Perkins throws a right and a left that both miss.
Perkins looks to land a combination but Stanzi avoids it well.
Stanzi fails with a takedown attempt.
Perkins misses with an uppercut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Perkins throws a sloppy head kick and Stanzi moves out of range easily.
Perkins should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Stanzi misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ricky Stanzi. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Stanzi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Stanzi shoots in but Perkins avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Perkins misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Perkins tries to clinch up but Stanzi circles away and keeps his distance.

Perkins takes the fight into the clinch.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Perkins lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Stanzi backwards.

Perkins gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Perkins trying to control but Stanzi is working from the bottom.
Stanzi preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Perkins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Stanzi swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Stanzi is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Stanzi is trying to control the position but Perkins postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Perkins thows a big elbow that misses.
Perkins trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Perkins shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Stanzi is trying to defend but Perkins finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Perkins tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Stanzi controlling the position for now.
Perkins is stalling here. Stanzi is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Perkins seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Stanzi has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Perkins is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Stanzi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Perkins doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Stanzi.

Stanzi is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Perkins defends it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeremy Perkins dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Stanzi misses with a takedown

and Perkins counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Stanzi trying to hold on to Perkins's head to control him but Perkins postures up.

Perkins is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Perkins missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Stanzi trying to control from the bottom.
Perkins with the ground and pound but Stanzi uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Perkins trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Stanzi manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Stanzi drops back, looking for a kneebar! Perkins looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Perkins looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Perkins!
Perkins tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Perkins tries to advance to mount but Stanzi instead regains half guard.
Perkins passes the guard and advances to mount!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Perkins throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Perkins swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Stanzi is now in Perkins's guard. A big mistake from Perkins there, giving up the dominant position!
Perkins is breathing heavily.

Stanzi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Stanzi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Stanzi thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Stanzi drops back, looking for a kneebar! Perkins looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Perkins looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Perkins!
Perkins really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stanzi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Perkins landing strikes.
Perkins connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Stanzi some visible discomfort.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Perkins wants to control but Stanzi is keeping him busy.

Perkins throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Stanzi works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Perkins thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Stanzi's head.
Stanzi trying to hold on to Perkins's head to control him but Perkins postures up.
Perkins thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Stanzi to regain full guard.
Perkins scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Stanzi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Perkins doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Stanzi is tightening it up a little... Perkins has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Perkins reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Perkins taps out! nice BJJ there by Stanzi!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Ricky Stanzi!
