Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kev Richards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Diaz kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Kanye West- Amazing . Richards has chosen "Bad Things" by Jace Everett as his entrance music. Kev Richards has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nick Diaz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kev Richards!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Daniel Blasius and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richards ducks under a wild hook from Diaz.
Richards slips a jab and a cross from Diaz.
Richards closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Richards fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Diaz avoids it really well and circles away.
Nick Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Diaz misses with a jab, cross combination.
Richards shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Diaz pinned against the cage. Diaz gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Diaz jabs at Richards's body.
Richards drops his hands momentarily and Diaz takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Nice uppercut lands for Diaz. That snapped Richards's head back.

Diaz gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Richards to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Richards postures up in Diaz's guard and throws a big left but Diaz blocks it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Richards postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Diaz is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Richards, into his guard.

Richards is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Diaz controls from within his opponent's guard.

Richards is looking for a triangle here but Diaz uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Diaz has knee on belly momentarily but Richards bucks him off and regains half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Richards is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Diaz wants to lay and pray for a moment but Richards keeps working.

Richards is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Diaz pulls his head out easily.

Diaz is working for a kimura but Richards is defending it quite comfortably.
Richards is not content to let Diaz control the position.
Ground and pound from Diaz.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Richards is refusing to be controlled, as Diaz sits in half guard.
Richards wants to control but Diaz is keeping busy.
Diaz thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Richards's head.
Diaz is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Richards has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Diaz escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Diaz!

Diaz tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Diaz has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Richards manages to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Richards wants to improve his position but Diaz is controlling well.
Richards manages to get to full guard.

Diaz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Richards has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Diaz has managed to get both his arms back between Richards's legs - danger averted.

Richards is looking for a triangle but Diaz pushes his legs off easily.

Diaz drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Diaz seems to have locked his on tight now - Richards screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Diaz, as he picks up the win!
