Hayes has chosen My Sacrifice as his entrance music. Marcus Hayes will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendoza tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hayes sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mendoza somewhat.

Hayes shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Hayes is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mendoza is just riding it out for now. Hayes eventually gives up the hold.

Hayes seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mendoza does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Mendoza is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Hayes rolls with it to try and escape but Mendoza cranks on the arm and Hayes is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
