PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jack Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Quizboy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quizboy comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Boy Genius kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quizboy tries to clinch up but Stone circles away and keeps his distance.
Quizboy ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Stone moves away.

Quizboy has managed to clinch.
Quizboy tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Stone avoids it.
Quizboy looking to throw knees to the head but Stone is blocking nicely.

Stone has Quizboy pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Stone pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Quizboy tumbling to the mat - Stone dives into Quizboy's guard.
Stone pushing down on Quizboy's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Stone is working for a kimura but Quizboy is defending it quite comfortably.
Stone passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Quizboy!
Quizboy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stone. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Quizboy is trying to stand.

Stone wants to finish this one by submission but Quizboy is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Stone.
Quizboy can't escape the position.

Stone with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stone avoids the attempt from Quizboy to control.

Stone is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Quizboy can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Stone looking for a guillotine from mount but Quizboy is having none of it.

Quizboy is squirming around, avoiding Stone's attempts to control the action.

Stone jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Quizboy manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Stone tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Stone has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Stone is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Quizboy has escaped the position, nice work there.

Stone is trying to get an arm triangle but Quizboy is defending well.
Stone wants to lay and pray for a moment but Quizboy keeps working.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Stone tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Stone wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Quizboy, who protects the arm well.
Stone tries to move to mount but Quizboy blocks the move with his legs.

Stone looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jack Stone dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Quizboy wants to clinch.

Quizboy looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Stone slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Stone has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Quizboy should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Stone has tightened it up now! Quizboy should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
