The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hesse fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Al Zarqawi avoids it really well and circles away.
Al Zarqawi changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hesse looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Al Zarqawi tries to advance to mount but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Al Zarqawi is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Hesse has escaped the position, nice work there.
Al Zarqawi wants to control but Hesse is keeping him busy.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Al Zarqawi is working to tighten is grip on Hesse's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Hesse has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Al Zarqawi is really squeezing tight and eventually Hesse passes out! Al Zarqawi breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
