The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reed pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Both fighters circling a little - Christie finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Reed blocks the body kick.
Reed shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Christie but Christie pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Reed misses with a double jab.
Reed is breathing heavily.
Reed has a takedown stuffed.
Reed is looking to clinch.
Reed looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Reed has picked Christie up - he's going for a ride! Reed dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Reed has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Christie is trying to stand up.

Reed is working for a guillotine from mount but Christie frees his head quite easily.
Christie really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reed. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Christie is trying to reverse the position but instead Reed has taken his back - oops!
Christie is trying to get back to his feet but Reed has full control of the position and if anything, Christie has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Reed is looking to control Christie but Christie is wriggling around and keeping busy.

Christie takes a little break here. Reed wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Reed lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Christie!

Reed has hold of Christie's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Christie manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Reed working the ground and pound effectively.
Christie tries to hold on but Reed pushes him away.
Christie is squirming around, avoiding Reed's attempts to control the action.
Reed lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Christie hang on?

Reed fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Christie is still on wobbly legs! Can Reed finish him?

Reed looking to secure an arm triangle but Christie defends it well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Reed wants to finish this one by submission but Christie is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Reed.
You get the feeling that Christie really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Reed lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Christie hold on?!

Reed is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Christie is defending well though. Reed let's go of the attempt for now.

Reed is working for a rear naked choke. Christie is not defending it well and Reed has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Christie refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Christie's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
