Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gepetto Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Gepetto Gracie! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Shawn Stevens! The judges for this bout are , and .
 The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gracie showed some decent athleticism there.
Gracie is looking for a kimura but Stevens is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gracie to get the leverage. Gracie missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Stevens avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Gracie.

Stevens looks like he's trying to stand up.
Stevens is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Gracie's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Gracie's back! Gracie trying to control the position but Stevens manages to sink in the hooks. Gracie tries to escape but Stevens has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Stevens not allowing Gracie to control his hands. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gracie tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Stevens looking to control but Gracie is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gracie wants to control but Stevens is having none of it. Gracie bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Gracie throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stevens works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Stevens scores with a couple of body punches from the bottom.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Stevens keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully. Stevens working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Gracie. Stevens avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Gracie prevents Stevens from getting back to his feet. Gracie throwing strikes but missing.
 Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Stevens with a poor takedown
and Gracie counters with a single leg into guard. Stevens didn't expect that. Stevens looking to control.
Gracie with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Gracie postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Stevens keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully. Gracie is breathing heavily.
Gracie stands up from guard. Let's bang! Gracie tries for a takedown but Stevens sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Stevens leaves Gracie with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Gracie misses with a takedown attempt - Stevens sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gepetto Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him. Gracie shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Stevens as he jumps to the side. Gracie keeps the fight on the outside.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Stevens is defended easily by Gracie. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Stevens. A nice combination there by Stevens.
Horrible takedown by Gracie or perhaps it was just good defense by Stevens which made him look bad. Stevens shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Gracie counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Gracie. Stevens wants to sweep but no luck. Gracie wants to control from the top but Stevens keeps moving. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Gepetto Gracie dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Stevens throws a push kick but Gracie slaps the foot to one side. Gracie avoids the head kick by Stevens.
Stevens misses with a takedown attempt
and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into side control. Stevens won't be happy with that.
Gracie is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Stevens has escaped the position, nice work there. Stevens is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Gracie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Stevens, who protects the arm well. Stevens is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Gracie asserts his dominance and retains side control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Stevens manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Stevens looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Gracie is trying to control. Stevens wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Gracie thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Gracie is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Stevens doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gracie. Stevens is pressing down on Gracie's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Stevens wants to stand up but Gracie is controlling him. Gracie wants to control from the top but Stevens keeps moving. Gracie in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
 Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Stevens gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Gracie counters with a shoot takedown. Stevens fights it but they end up in guard. Gracie throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Stevens works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Gracie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Stevens is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Gracie missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Gracie wants to stand but Stevens is controlling his posture from full guard. Stevens not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gracie wants to control from the top but Stevens keeps moving. Gracie wanted to stand there but Stevens had control of the position.
 That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
 The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. The fight stays on the outside here - Stevens looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Stevens with a lazy takedown attempt
and Gracie counters with a nice double leg into guard. Gepetto Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shawn Stevens.
Gracie decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Stevens, up you get!
Stevens changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gracie looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Gracie is trying to control Stevens's posture but Stevens avoids it. Gracie is looking to reverse the position. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Gracie looking for a sweep but Stevens has passed into full mount! Oh no! Gracie is looking to get to half guard. And that�s the end of the round � the fighters go back to their corners.
Gepetto Gracie dominated that second round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Stevens looks for a takedown but Gracie sprawls well. Stevens's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Stevens duly obliges. Stevens stuffs the takedown. Stevens fails in his attempt to clinch.
Gracie shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gracie showed some decent athleticism there.
Gracie is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Stevens is just riding it out for now. Gracie eventually gives up the hold. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Stevens moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
 That's one minute gone in the round. Stevens tries to land a sweep but no joy. Stevens keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully. Stevens wants to sweep but no luck. Gracie trying to control but Stevens is working from the bottom. Gracie loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
 That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Gracie trying to control the position from guard on top but Stevens is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
 The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Stevens tries to clinch up but Gracie circles away and keeps his distance. Stevens wants to clinch up but Gracie keeps it at a distance.
Gracie instigates a clinch. Stevens tries to break the clinch but Gracie is controlling the position. Stevens goes for a takedown attempt but Gracie pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Gracie looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Gracie trying to advance position but Stevens counters by regaining guard.
 That's three minutes gone in the round. Gracie wants to control from the top but Stevens keeps moving. Gracie is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Stevens is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gracie accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Stevens bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Gracie's guard. Stevens is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Stevens decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Stevens gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
so Gracie counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Gepetto Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shawn Stevens.
 That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gracie drops back looking for a leg! Stevens is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Stevens manages to kick Gracie off! Gracie jumps back into Stevens's guard. Stevens keeping moving, preventing Gracie from controlling successfully. Stevens manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gracie manages to get himself to full guard.
Gepetto Gracie overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Stevens pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gracie is keeping the position for now. Shawn Stevens has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Gepetto Gracie is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Gracie trying to keep a closed guard but Stevens is proving a slippery customer.
And that's the end of the fight! Gepetto Gracie showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gracie, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
