Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jay West (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dusty Dangerfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jay West!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dusty Dangerfield!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dangerfield avoids a punch combination nicely.
Dangerfield tries to work over West's front leg with a kick but West checks it.
West staying out of range there.
Dangerfield pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
West blocks the body kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dangerfield. West does a little dance to reset his feet.
Dangerfield lands a jab to the head.
Dangerfield misses with a leg kick.
Dangerfield throws a left and a right that both miss

and West counters with a combination of strikes to the head and body that crumple Dangerfield!


Dangerfield is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
West prevents Dangerfield from improving his position.
Dangerfield is controlling West's position as best he can from this difficult position.
West is controlling the pace.

Dangerfield is looking to improve his position.
Dangerfield moves into full guard.
West's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Dangerfield has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Dangerfield manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

West bucks up and throws Dangerfield to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!

and West counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

West lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Dangerfield sprawling to the canvas. West follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Dangerfield hang on?


It looks like Dusty Dangerfield has been cut.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
West moves nicely into side control.
Dangerfield is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Dangerfield is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

A lull in the action here.
Dangerfield regains half guard.
West prevents Dangerfield from standing back up.
Dangerfield is looking for a sweep. West is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
West looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Dangerfield is looking to improve his position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Dangerfield is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by West.

Dangerfield gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Dangerfield is trying to control the position but West postures up.
Dangerfield seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Dangerfield looking for a guillotine here but West defends easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Dangerfield looking to hit a scissor sweep but West is one step ahead there.

Dangerfield swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and West counters with a body kick that stops Dangerfield in his tracks momentarily.
West throws a sloppy head kick and Dangerfield moves out of range easily.
Dusty Dangerfield seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
West throws a nice outside leg kick.

West lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Dangerfield sprawling to the canvas. West follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Dangerfield hang on?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
West works his way into side control.
Dangerfield prevents West from moving into mount.
West works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
West moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Dangerfield manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

West on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if West tries to get out of the position.
Dangerfield looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dangerfield prevents West from standing back up.

Dangerfield looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
West is not content to let Dangerfield control the position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
West wants to get back to his feet.
Dangerfield is looking to advance position but West won't allow it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Dangerfield lands a head shot.
Dangerfield throws a sloppy head kick

and West counters with a shoot takedown. Dangerfield fights it but they end up in guard.
Dangerfield looking for a sweep. Not yet Dangerfield, not yet.

Dangerfield has control of West's left arm, preventing West from doing any damage.
Dangerfield looking to hit a scissor sweep but West is one step ahead there.

Dangerfield pushes West off and scrambles back to his feet.

West avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jay West is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

West closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
West moves nicely into side control.
Dangerfield is trying to control West's posture but West avoids it.
Dangerfield tries to improve position but can't.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee asks West politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. West prefers to stall for the moment though.
Dangerfield tries to bench press West off him but West keeps the position.
West just content to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


West slips a straight right by Dangerfield.
Dangerfield thows a left - swing and a miss!
Dangerfield walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Dangerfield closes the distance and lands a one-two.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dangerfield looks to land a left hand but West moved out of range nicely.
Jay West is winning the standup battle so far.
A head kick misses from Dangerfield.
Dangerfield misses with a looping right.
West feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Dangerfield's calf.
A nice combination there by West.
Dangerfield misses with a telegraphed body shot
and West counters with a three punch combo that has Dangerfield backing up. Dangerfield nods at West to acknowledge the strikes.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Dangerfield looks to land a body kick but West moved away.
Dangerfield fakes a jab and throws a low kick but West checks it well.

West tries to score a power double leg takedown but Dangerfield sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten West somewhat.
Dangerfield connects with a nice looking jab.
Dangerfield throws a left and a right that both miss
and West counters with a two punch combo.
Dangerfield throws an uppercut from half a mile away. West sees it coming and avoids it easily.
West shoots for a takedown but Dangerfield saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Dangerfield fails to land with a series of punches.
Dangerfield throws a hook to the side of West's head but West sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Dangerfield tries to bum rush West with a series of wild strikes but West uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Some bone on bone action there as West checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
West is trying hard to land a takedown here. Dangerfield sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jay West. That's going to take a lot out of him.

West avoids a punch combination nicely.
West has a takedown stuffed.
West slips under a jab.
West blocks a head kick by Dangerfield.
Dangerfield throws a head kick that half lands.
Dangerfield takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

West drives through with a takedown into guard.
West trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Dangerfield not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

West not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
West wants to control from the top but Dangerfield keeps moving.
West tries to free his leg and advance position but Dangerfield is retaining full guard.
Dangerfield is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Dangerfield displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from West.

Dangerfield escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. West gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

West is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Dangerfield looking for submissions from the bottom but instead West passes into half guard.

Jay West showed his dominance in that final round.
Well West has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
