Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Dundee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Carwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Dundee! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shane Carwin! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dundee drives through with a takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dundee would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Dundee knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Carwin on the ground. Carwin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Dundee looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Dundee moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Carwin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Carwin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Carwin advances position into side control! Dundee is looking for a sweep. Carwin trying to control the position but Dundee is working away. Carwin is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Dundee throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carwin working the ground and pound but Dundee is defending the strikes. You can see the frustration on Dundee's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Carwin misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Carwin fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Dundee slips a jab and a cross from Carwin.
Dundee darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Carwin actively working from the bottom here. Carwin works his way to full guard. Good work. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Dundee preventing the sweep. Dundee wants to get up but he can't break Carwin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Dundee stopping the sweep attempt from Carwin.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carwin is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Carwin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dundee gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Carwin looks gassed! Dundee looking to pass the guard. Dundee is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Dundee gets to his feet. Carwin looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Carwin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Dundee looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Carwin manages to get to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Dundee is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Carwin working for a triangle but Dundee defends it easily.
Dundee's corner is telling him to maintain position. Carwin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dundee defends well. Dundee wants to stand but Carwin has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Dundee avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Carwin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Dundee gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dundee passes Carwin's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Dundee tries to pass to full mount but Carwin defends it. Carwin is looking for a sweep. Dundee is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Dundee wants to take a breather but Carwin is having none of it. Dundee tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Carwin. Dundee is taking a breather. Carwin says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Dundee tries to stand but can't do so whilst Carwin controls his leg.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Carwin connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Nick Dundee will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Dundee shoots in for a double leg but Carwin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Carwin lands a glancing blow to the side of Dundee's head. Dundee shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Carwin controls Dundee momentarily but Dundee frees himself. Carwin looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Dundee wants to get up but he can't break Carwin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Dundee got a little sloppy there for a moment and Carwin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dundee has managed to get both his arms back between Carwin's legs - danger averted. Dundee trying to control but Carwin is working from the bottom. Carwin looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Dundee trying to stand up but can't free himself from Carwin's guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Carwin wants to sweep but no luck.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carwin trying to control the position.
Carwin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dundee doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Carwin is tightening it up a little... Dundee has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Dundee reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Dundee taps out! nice BJJ there by Carwin!
