Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mr Ripley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Paulson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ripley comes to the ring accompanied by The Talented Mr. Ripley - Tu Vuo' Fa l'Americano . Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mr Ripley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyler Paulson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ripley throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Paulson.
Mr Ripley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Paulson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Ripley clinches with his opponent.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Ripley as Paulson tries to tie him up.
Ripley fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Ripley works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Paulson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ripley's guard.
Ripley looking to hit a scissor sweep but Paulson is one step ahead there.
Paulson tries to free his leg and advance position but Ripley is retaining full guard.
Paulson passes Ripley's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Ripley has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Paulson is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Ripley.
Paulson works to advance to full mount. Ripley defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Paulson throwing strikes but Ripley bucks up and reverses the position. He's now in guard on top.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Paulson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ripley keeps working.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Ripley stuffs the takedown attempt from Paulson. Paulson gets slowly back to his feet.
Ripley leaves Paulson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Ripley wants to clinch.
Ripley misses with an uppercut. Paulson saw that one coming.
Ripley throws a series of punches but Paulson moves out of range.
Paulson shoots in looking for a takedown. Ripley tries to sprawl out of it but Paulson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Ripley manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Mr Ripley has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyler Paulson.
Ripley displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Paulson.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Paulson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ripley circles away.

Ripley throws a series of punches but Paulson moves out of range.

Ripley feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Ripley postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Paulson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ripley, into his guard.

Paulson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ripley swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ripley working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Paulson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Paulson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ripley avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Ripley has a closed guard, preventing Paulson from standing up.
Ripley wants to get back to his feet but Paulson is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Ripley pushes Paulson off and scrambles back to his feet.
Paulson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Ripley swivels and escapes.

Ripley is trying to get an arm triangle but Paulson is defending well.

Mr Ripley dominated that second round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Ripley moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Paulson has worked his arm free - good work by Paulson!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Ripley looks to land a combination but Paulson avoids it well.
Ripley tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Paulson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ripley accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Paulson ducks under a wild hook from Ripley.

Paulson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ripley swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Paulson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Paulson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Paulson wants to get up but he can't break Ripley's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Ripley is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Paulson is aware though and is defending well.
Paulson advances position into side control!

And that's the end of the fight!
Mr Ripley showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Ripley has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
