Evans uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from McDermott.

Evans feints and as McDermott raises his hands in defense, Evans changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Evans postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Evans throws and elbow that misses. McDermott uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Evans's guard. Nice move by McDermott!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Evans looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McDermott is fending him off so far but Evans persists. Nope, McDermott circles away and we're back to standing.
Arthur McDermott is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Horrible takedown by Evans or perhaps it was just good defense by McDermott which made him look bad.
McDermott leaves Evans with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
McDermott misses with a few strikes there.
Evans shoots in for a takedown but McDermott shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Evans throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. McDermott was covering up waiting for the punch and Evans finishes the takedown easily into guard.
McDermott pulls Evans in close to his closed guard and prevents Evans from doing any damage or advancing position.
Evans postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now McDermott is on top in guard.
McDermott trying to control but Evans is working from the bottom.

Evans changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. McDermott looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
McDermott is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Evans's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
McDermott is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Evans's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Evans's back!
