PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bill Compton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Trev Gable (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Bill Compton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Trev Gable!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Ivan Kurochkin and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Compton stuffs the takedown attempt from Gable. Gable gets slowly back to his feet.
Compton tries to clinch up but Gable circles away and keeps his distance.

and Gable counters with a single leg into guard. Compton didn't expect that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Compton avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Gable gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

and Gable counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Compton on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Compton tries to get out of the position.
Gable throwing strikes from guard but Compton blocks nicely.
Compton avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Gable sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Compton's guard.
Gable thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Compton's head.
Gable not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Gable is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Gable wants to lay and pray for a moment but Compton keeps working.
Compton is looking for a sweep. Gable is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Gable is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Gable trying to mount his opponent but Compton defends it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Compton gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

Gable bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Gable tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Gable sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Compton is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Compton is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Compton is not content to let Gable control the position.
Compton can't do much from the bottom here.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Gable has hold of Compton's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Compton seems comfortable defending it but Gable has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Compton is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Compton is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Gable couldn't care less - he's delighted!
