Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between King Leonidas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randal Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). King Leonidas has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, King Leonidas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Randal Stevens!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Hirohito Nitta and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leonidas stuffs the takedown attempt from Stevens. Stevens gets slowly back to his feet.
Stevens avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Stevens throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Leonidas's waist but Leonidas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stevens off to one side.
Nice defenses there by Stevens.

Stevens closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Stevens is chipping away with strikes.
Stevens misses with the ground and pound.
Leonidas is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Stevens has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Stevens is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Leonidas will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Stevens tries to advance to mount but Leonidas denies him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stevens trying to control the action but Leonidas is working from the bottom.
Leonidas is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Stevens sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Leonidas is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
No luck for Stevens with that takedown attempt.
King Leonidas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Randal Stevens.
Stevens throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Leonidas's waist but Leonidas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stevens off to one side.
Leonidas misses with a hook. Stevens ducked under it nicely.
Stevens shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Leonidas but Leonidas pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Leonidas keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Leonidas scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Stevens looks gassed!
Stevens is trying hard to land a takedown here. Leonidas sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Leonidas jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Stevens takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Stevens shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Leonidas manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Stevens looking to sit in guard and control but Leonidas gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Leonidas would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that King Leonidas will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Leonidas stuffs the takedown.
Leonidas swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Stevens steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Leonidas.
Leonidas keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Leonidas leaves Stevens with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
King Leonidas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Randal Stevens.
Stevens shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Leonidas as he jumps to the side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Leonidas gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Leonidas has his feet on Stevens's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Leonidas stuffs the takedown.
Stevens dives in and grabs Leonidas's left leg, looking for a takedown. Leonidas pushes down on Stevens's head and hops out.
Stevens is breathing heavily.
Stevens uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Leonidas.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Stevens.
Stevens shoots in for a takedown but Leonidas shows good takedown defense.
Stevens has a takedown stuffed.
Stevens on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Leonidas connects with the punch.
Stevens throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Leonidas's waist but Leonidas gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Stevens off to one side.
Stevens shoots in but no luck this time.
Leonidas jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Leonidas misses with a looping right.

Leonidas drops Stevens with a beautiful combination! Stevens stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Leonidas is looking for the KO!


Stevens is rocked!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Leonidas looks to land a right hand but Stevens moved out of range.
Stevens is still on wobbly legs! Can Leonidas finish him?
Leonidas finds Stevens's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Stevens flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Leonidas lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Stevens will be OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). King Leonidas!
