Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Don Kriege!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Johnathan Ditchman!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ditchman keeps the fight on the outside.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kriege is defended easily by Ditchman.

Ditchman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Ditchman should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Ditchman chips away with some ground and pound.
Ditchman working some strikes from top position.
Kriege is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Ditchman throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Ditchman postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Kriege is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Kriege preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Ditchman loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Kriege knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ditchman on the ground.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Ditchman gets to his feet. Kriege looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Kriege doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Ditchman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kriege won't be happy with that.
Ditchman in side control lands a decent elbow.
Ditchman creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Kriege is being controlled here.

Ditchman is working to tighten is grip on Kriege's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Kriege has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Ditchman is really squeezing tight and eventually Kriege passes out! Ditchman breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Johnathan Ditchman!
