The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brown drops Maximus with a left and a right! Oh, Maximus is hurt - Brown dives into side control looking to finish!

It looks like Melvis Maximus has been cut.
Maximus gets back to half guard.
Maximus regains full guard. Nicely done.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Brown wants to get up but he can't break Maximus's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Brown is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Maximus is on top in guard.
Maximus works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Maximus landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Brown tries to kick Maximus off but Maximus keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Maximus is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Brown is kicking away at Maximus from the bottom - trying to push off and stand up. Maximus grabs hold of a leg and drops back for a hell hook! The two fighters roll across the mat, with Brown trying to push Maximus off... Brown taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.
