Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Zaq Wu Sang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ericson Mecos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Zaq Wu Sang! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ericson Mecos! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Donatello Bradman and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wu Sang shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mecos's guard. Wu Sang forces his way into half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wu Sang missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Mecos tries to roll over but Wu Sang keeps him under control. Well, if Wu Sang is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Mecos can't do much from the bottom here. Mecos being controlled for a moment. Wu Sang has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Mecos is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Wu Sang off and has taken his back!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Wu Sang is desperately trying to improve his position but Mecos has a good base and remains in mount. Mecos sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Mecos is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Mecos thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage. Wu Sang tries to reverse the position but Mecos maintains control. Wu Sang avoids a series of strikes thrown by Mecos.

Wu Sang regains half guard. Wu Sang regains full guard. Nicely done. Mecos drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Wu Sang dives on top into guard. Mecos looks gassed! Mecos trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Wu Sang stays in close to Mecos's body and controls the position. Wu Sang pushes down on Mecos's leg and manages to get into half guard. Mecos makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Mecos.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mecos is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Wu Sang defends well. Mecos keeping moving, preventing Wu Sang from controlling successfully. Wu Sang is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Wu Sang pushing down on Mecos's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Mecos looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Wu Sang takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Wu Sang works his way into full mount! Wu Sang lands a heavy elbow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mecos can't escape the position.

Wu Sang is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Mecos is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wu Sang punishes Mecos's body with a nice straight punch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mecos keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Zaq Wu Sang seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wu Sang looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wu Sang thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Mecos's head. Wu Sang is pressing down on Mecos's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mecos is holding on for now. Mecos is trying to get back to full guard. Mecos is defending against the submission attempts here by Wu Sang.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Mecos pushes Wu Sang off looking to stand but Wu Sang dives back in and keeps control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Wu Sang tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mecos was well out of range. Poor timing from Wu Sang. Mecos keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Wu Sang tries to clinch but Mecos is having none of it. Mecos defending well as Wu Sang loads up on a big left hand. Mecos shoots in but doesn't get the takedown so Wu Sang counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Wu Sang postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mecos is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Wu Sang is controlling him. Mecos keeping moving, preventing Wu Sang from controlling successfully. Wu Sang has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Wu Sang wants to pass the guard but Mecos is keeping the position. Wu Sang stops Mecos from standing up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Mecos gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Mecos is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Mecos tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Wu Sang wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Wu Sang scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Mecos is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Mecos is trying desperately to improve position. Wu Sang is landing with some decent strikes but Mecos is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wu Sang takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Mecos is in all sorts of trouble here.

Wu Sang is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Mecos is surviving well by controlling Wu Sang's body position as best he can. Mecos is trying desperately to improve position. Wu Sang can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mecos is looking to escape. Mecos can't escape the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wu Sang putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! Wu Sang tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Wu Sang raining down shots from the mount! Mecos tries to hold on but Wu Sang postures up. Wu Sang landing strikes from the mount. Mecos throwing hammer fists to the chest of Wu Sang. What's that going to do exactly? Mecos can't escape the position.
And that's the end of the fight! Zaq Wu Sang showed his dominance in that final round. Well Wu Sang has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
