PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jackie Chan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hayato Saito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hayato Saito!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yukihiro Shimada and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saito jabs at Chan's body.
Saito jabs Chan right on the nose. Chan blinks but takes it well.
Saito throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Chan throws a series of punches but Saito avoids them all with ease.
Saito dodges the punch combination from Chan.
Chan takes a swing at Saito's ribcage but misses.

Saito pushes Chan up against the ropes in a clinch.
Chan jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Saito walks away with a smile on his face. Chan gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Saito shoots in but no luck this time.
Chan misses with a few strikes there.

Chan tries to keep at a distance but Saito has taken the fight into the clinch.

Saito breaks the clinch.
Saito throws a nice looking combination but Chan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Chan throws a good cross that connects.
Chan swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Saito makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Chan throws a sloppy body shot
and Saito counters with a right hand to the body.
Chan is breathing heavily.
Chan throws a combination that misses
enabling Saito to counter with a crisp jab.
Jackie Chan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Saito clinches with his opponent.

Saito's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Saito throws a good cross that connects.
Chan throws a hook but Saito blocks it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Saito stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
A nice right hand lands inside from Saito.

Saito drives through and clinches with Chan against the ropes.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Chan is looking to break free of the clinch but Saito has double underhooks.

Hayato Saito showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Saito cracks Chan with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Well Saito has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
