Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
vergara wants to clinch up but Rogers keeps it at a distance.
vergara changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rogers tries to avoid it but vergara manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rogers to the ground. Rogers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
vergara staying out of range there.
vergara steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Rogers.
A jab from Rogers misses.
vergara moves into the clinch.
Rogers scores with a shoulder strike.
vergara manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Rogers is looking to break free of the clinch but vergara has double underhooks.
Rogers wants to break the clinch but can't.
vergara keeps control of Rogers as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
vergara tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Rogers tries to break the clinch but vergara is controlling the position.
vergara misses with a hook to the ribs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
vergara drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Rogers gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Phil Rogers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of david vergara.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Rogers takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Rogers scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Rogers wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Rogers presses vergara against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
vergara can't break the clinch.
vergara tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Rogers just stands there and leans against the cage.

vergara is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
vergara is working for takedown but Rogers is calmly controlling the position for now.

Rogers is pressed up against the cage. vergara has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Rogers down to the mat. Rogers avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Rogers swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Phil Rogers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rogers paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Rogers avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
vergara misses with a series of wild punches.
vergara looks gassed!
Rogers feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends vergara sprawling to the canvas! vergara rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Rogers finish him?!
vergara is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rogers is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! vergara hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:01 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Phil Rogers!
