Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Boris Smirnov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Knife!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Alec Ball and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smirnov avoids the head kick by Knife.
Knife drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Knife trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Knife drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Knife jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Knife won't allow Smirnov to sweep him here.
Knife trying to control the position from guard on top but Smirnov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Smirnov kicks Knife off and gets to his feet.
Smirnov slaps away a takedown attempt from Knife, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Smirnov throws a head kick that misses.
Smirnov connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Knife momentarily.
Knife staying out of range there.
Knife takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A swing and a miss from Smirnov.
Smirnov throws a body punch but Knife moves out of range.
Knife shoots in but Smirnov avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Knife fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Boris Smirnov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jim Knife.
Nice jab there from Smirnov.
Smirnov cracks Knife with a good jab.
Smirnov scores with a punch to the head.
Smirnov dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Knife. That did some damage!

Knife fails with the takedown.
Knife looks gassed!
Smirnov lands a right hook to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smirnov dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Smirnov fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Knife throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Smirnov's waist but Smirnov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Knife off to one side.
Smirnov pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Smirnov cracks the inside of Knife's front leg.
Smirnov connects with a high kick.
Smirnov thuds a left hand into Knife's body.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Knife is defended easily by Smirnov.
Smirnov jabs at Knife's body.
Smirnov misses the jab.
Knife missing with a left hand there. Smirnov was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Smirnov displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Knife.
Smirnov throws a leg kick which misses Knife's front leg but catches the back leg as Knife tries to avoid it.

Smirnov lands a nice leg kick that just misses Knife's sensitive parts.
Smirnov thuds his right hand into Knife's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Knife keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Knife on the wrong end of a nice jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smirnov punishes Knife's body with a nice straight punch.
Smirnov cracks Knife with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Knife is rocked!
Smirnov cracks Knife with a good jab.
Knife is still on wobbly legs! Can Smirnov finish him?
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Smirnov walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Knife drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Smirnov swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Knife's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Boris Smirnov!
