Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fedor Emelianenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and ian wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, ian wright!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Dmitry Maklakov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Emelianenko shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. wright manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
wright looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
wright can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Emelianenko controls the pace.
Emelianenko working some strikes from top position.
wright should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Emelianenko pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. wright is keeping the position for now.

wright has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Emelianenko is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for wright.

Emelianenko's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Emelianenko creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Emelianenko feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Emelianenko shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in wright's guard.

Emelianenko cracks wright with a solid left hand.

Emelianenko has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Fedor Emelianenko.

Emelianenko shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches wright napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Emelianenko is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but wright is surviving well by controlling Emelianenko's body position as best he can.

wright tries to improve his position but Emelianenko has taken his back! Emelianenko has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will wright tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Emelianenko pushes wright away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
