Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between You Next (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joseph Sarmiento (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joseph Sarmiento will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Next defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Sarmiento.
Sarmiento fails in his attempt to clinch.

Next shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sarmiento manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Sarmiento is trying to control the position but Next postures up.
Next tries to free his leg and advance position but Sarmiento is retaining full guard.

Next drops back looking for a leg! Sarmiento is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sarmiento manages to kick Next off! Next jumps back into Sarmiento's guard.

Next drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Next jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Next has gone for a leg lock! Sarmiento slips out almost immediately though and dives into Next's guard.

Next had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sarmiento defends it easily.
Sarmiento is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Sarmiento throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Next works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Next bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sarmiento's guard.
Sarmiento controls Next momentarily but Next frees himself.
Sarmiento wants to stand and escape but Next is having none of it.

Next drops back, looking for a kneebar! Sarmiento looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Sarmiento looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Sarmiento!
Next is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Next looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Next is breathing heavily.
Next trying to control from the bottom.

Sarmiento wants to work for an arm triangle but Next is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Sarmiento prevents Next from improving his position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Next manages to get to full guard.

Sarmiento wants to control from the top but Next keeps moving.
Next utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Sarmiento got a little sloppy there for a moment and Next has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sarmiento has managed to get both his arms back between Next's legs - danger averted.
