Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jordan Alex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jahangir Hooshmand (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jordan Alex!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jahangir Hooshmand!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alex closes the distance and clinches.
Alex is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Alex breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Alex fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Hooshmand moves into range and clinches up with Alex.

Alex pulls guard.

Hooshmand drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Alex manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hooshmand has Alex in his guard.
Alex throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Hooshmand works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Alex throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Alex missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Alex is fighting to break Hooshmand's control of his arms but Hooshmand is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hooshmand shoots in for a takedown but Alex shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Alex throws a right and a left that both miss.
Alex tries to clinch but Hooshmand moves out of range.
Alex is looking to clinch.
Hooshmand loads up on a big right hand but Alex slips the punch.
Hooshmand showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Alex.
Alex is looking to clinch.
Alex tries to clinch but Hooshmand is having none of it.
Hooshmand takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.

Alex clinches up against the cage.
Hooshmand can't get the takedown.
Hooshmand looks gassed!

Alex drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hooshmand gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jordan Alex. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Alex breaks the clinch.

Alex gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hooshmand looking to pass the guard.
Hooshmand stays in close to Alex's body and controls the position.

Alex is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Alex gets underhooks to prevent Hooshmand's takedown attempt.

Alex breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Alex gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Hooshmand counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hooshmand.
Hooshmand is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alex keeping full guard, as Hooshmand tries to pass.
Hooshmand is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Hooshmand pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Alex is keeping the position for now.
Alex keeping moving, preventing Hooshmand from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jahangir Hooshmand.
Alex stuffs the takedown.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Alex throws out a loose jab but Hooshmand uses good head movement to avoid it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jahangir Hooshmand will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Excellent takedown into side control there by Hooshmand.
Alex is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Hooshmand thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Hooshmand tries for a kimura but Alex is defending well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Alex is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Hooshmand has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Hooshmand swings around for an armbar but Alex sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Hooshmand's guard.

Hooshmand working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Alex doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Alex manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Alex throws and elbow that misses. Hooshmand uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Alex's guard. Nice move by Hooshmand!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hooshmand controls from within his opponent's guard.
Alex is trying to keep Hooshmand in close.
Alex can't keep his opponent in guard - Hooshmand advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Hooshmand is trying to control the action in half guard but Alex is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hooshmand trying to advance position but Alex counters by regaining guard.
Hooshmand not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Hooshmand drops back, looking for a kneebar! Alex looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Alex looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Alex!
Alex tries to advance to mount but can't.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hooshmand wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Hooshmand manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Hooshmand blocking the ground and pound attempt from Alex.
Hooshmand makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hooshmand.
Hooshmand wants to sweep here but Alex controlling him for the moment.
Hooshmand is pulling down on Alex's head to control his posture.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Alex in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Alex missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jahangir Hooshmand showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Hooshmand is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jahangir Hooshmand.

Hooshmand gets a takedown into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Hooshmand is looking for a kimura but Alex is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hooshmand to get the leverage.
Alex is refusing to be controlled, as Hooshmand sits in half guard.
Still in half guard, Hooshmand seems content to control.
Alex is not content to let Hooshmand control the position.
Hooshmand prevents Alex from standing back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hooshmand content to control rather than advance.
Alex wants to get back to his feet.
Hooshmand wants to control but Alex is keeping him busy.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Hooshmand bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Hooshmand tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Alex prevents Hooshmand from moving into mount.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jahangir Hooshmand comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Hooshmand winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
