The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shibata is trying hard to land a takedown here. Grayson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Shibata misses with a hook.
Shibata dives in and grabs Grayson's left leg, looking for a takedown. Grayson pushes down on Shibata's head and hops out.
Shibata tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Grayson swivels and escapes.
Thesis Grayson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Katsuyori Shibata.
Shibata shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Grayson but Grayson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Grayson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Shibata.
Grayson swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Shibata misses with a hook.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Shibata throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Grayson's waist but Grayson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shibata off to one side.

The fighters circling - Shibata throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Grayson misses with a two punch combination.
Shibata shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Grayson as he avoids it easily.

and Grayson counters with a nice right hand that sends Shibata toppling to the canvas! Shibata scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Grayson finish him?!

It looks like Katsuyori Shibata has been cut.
Shibata throws a hook but Grayson avoids it easily.
Grayson fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Shibata to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Shibata looks to clinch but Grayson throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Shibata taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
