Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sam Snoozer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimir Stepanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sam Snoozer has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stepanov throws a right and a left that both miss.
Snoozer takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

It looks like Sam Snoozer has been cut.

Snoozer looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Snoozer pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Stepanov is keeping the position for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Snoozer is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Snoozer is working Stepanov over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Snoozer is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Stepanov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Snoozer. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Stepanov wants to stand but Snoozer is controlling the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Stepanov connects with a single shot there.
Snoozer fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Snoozer shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Snoozer was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Snoozer has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Snoozer postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Stepanov looks a forlorn figure.
Snoozer will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Snoozer throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Snoozer pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Snoozer misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Stepanov is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Snoozer throws some wild stikes that Stepanov manages to avoid easily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Stepanov takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Stepanov is rocked!
Snoozer loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Stepanov scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Snoozer land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Snoozer stands and salutes the crowd.
