Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Manson Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alonzo Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wright kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is The Distillers - Drain the Blood. Silva comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Get up kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Alonzo Silva is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva clinches.
Silva looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Wright wants to break free but Silva has control.
Wright wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Silva changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Wright fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Silva shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Wright doesn't manage to clinch there - Silva circles away.

Wright drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Wright decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Silva, up you get!
Wright avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Wright scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

It looks like Alonzo Silva has been cut.
Wright will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Silva keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Wright.

Wright moves into range and clinches up with Silva.
Wright lands a body shot in the clinch.
Wright fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Silva fails to pull guard.
Manson Wright has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alonzo Silva.
Silva lands with a right to the head.

Wright breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Wright could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Silva throws a right and a left that both miss.

Wright closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Silva flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Wright wants to lay and pray for a moment but Silva keeps working.
Wright is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Wright trying to control but Silva is having none of it.

Wright lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Silva hang on?
Wright raining down shots from the mount!
The referee warns Silva that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A nice elbow there by Wright.

That has opened up Alonzo Silva's cut even more.
Silva is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Wright controlling from mount.
Silva is squirming around, avoiding Wright's attempts to control the action.
Wright lands a nice shot to the head.
Silva regains half guard.

Wright is working for a submission of some sort.
Silva trying to control but Wright postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wright wants to control but Silva is keeping him busy.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Wright connects with a nice short shot to Silva's temple.
Wright lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Silva is not content to let Wright control the position.
Still in half guard, Wright seems content to control.
Silva moves into full guard.
Wright passes Silva's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Wright seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Silva actively working from the bottom here.

Wright stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Wright throws a head kick but Silva moves out of range.
Silva looks to land a combination. Wright sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Wright moves in looking to clinch but Silva pushes him off.
Wright misses with a takedown attempt - Silva sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Wright tries a head kick but it misses.
Silva connects with a high kick.
Wright goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

The cut above Alonzo Silva's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Wright gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Silva wants to get back to striking at distance but Wright won't allow it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Wright is trying to trip Silva. He has hold of a leg but Silva is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Wright persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Wright wants to control from the top but Silva keeps moving.
Wright thows a big elbow that misses.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Manson Wright dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Alonzo Silva's cut.
That's time! Wright's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Wright scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Wright gets a takedown into half guard.
Silva has hold of Wright's hands but Wright slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Alonzo Silva's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Alonzo Silva's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
