Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Saxon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mack Legend Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Legend Jr has chosen DJ Khaled "All I Do Is Win" feat. Ludacris, Rick Ross, T-Pain & Snoop Dogg as his entrance music. Johnny Saxon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Legend Jr closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Saxon to the mat! Saxon manages to get full guard.
Saxon working a defensive guard but Legend Jr manages to pass into side control anyway.

Legend Jr thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Saxon manages to work his way to half guard, despite Legend Jr's best efforts.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Legend Jr prevents Saxon from improving his position.
Legend Jr thows a huge punch but Saxon dodges it nicely.
Saxon is looking to escape.

Saxon is trying to get back to full guard.
Saxon looks like he's trying to stand up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Legend Jr shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Saxon manages to get to full guard.

Saxon is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Saxon shoots and misses

and Legend Jr counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Legend Jr must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Saxon utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Legend Jr stands and throws Saxon's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Saxon is breathing heavily.

Saxon tries to clinch but Legend Jr moves away

and Legend Jr decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Saxon's guard.
Saxon manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Saxon lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Legend Jr is looking to get to half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Legend Jr can do anything to dispel that myth.
Saxon looking to control but Legend Jr is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Legend Jr is looking to improve his position but Saxon isn't that keen on the idea.

Mack Legend Jr showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Legend Jr counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Legend Jr is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Saxon is looking to control Legend Jr's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Saxon avoid being mounted?

Legend Jr is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Legend Jr takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Saxon wants to control but Legend Jr is keeping busy.
Saxon moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Legend Jr drops back, looking for a kneebar! Saxon looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Saxon looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Saxon!

Saxon gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Legend Jr counters with a single leg into guard. Saxon didn't expect that.
Legend Jr postures up in Saxon's guard and throws a big left but Saxon blocks it.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Saxon is on top in guard.
Saxon wants to control from the top but Legend Jr keeps moving.

Legend Jr has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Saxon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Legend Jr gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Saxon obliges.
Saxon tries to circle away but Legend Jr has him pinned against the cage.

Legend Jr is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Legend Jr looking for a sweep. Not yet Legend Jr, not yet.
Saxon postures up and lands a big shot to Legend Jr's brow.

Saxon got a little sloppy there for a moment and Legend Jr has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Saxon has managed to get both his arms back between Legend Jr's legs - danger averted.

Saxon is in a horrible position here. Legend Jr smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Saxon wants to hold on but Legend Jr pushes him away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Saxon is looking to improve his position but Legend Jr isn't that keen on the idea.
Legend Jr has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
