Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Sano and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palec moves in looking to clinch but Akiyama pushes him off.
Palec has taken the fight to the clinch.
Akiyama tries to pull guard but Palec holds him up against the cage and eventually Akiyama drops back down to his feet.
Palec is leaning against Akiyama and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Akiyama pulls Palec into guard.
Akiyama has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Palec can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Palec tries to stand but Akiyama is controlling from the bottom.

Akiyama is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Akiyama looking for a guillotine here but Palec defends easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Palec would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Akiyama working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Palec doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Akiyama is tightening it up a little... Palec has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Palec reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Palec taps out! nice BJJ there by Akiyama!
