PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Big Hurt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Ortis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ortis has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hurt closes the distance and pushes Ortis back into the cage.
Ortis fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Hurt is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Hurt controls Ortis momentarily but Ortis frees himself.

Hurt drops back looking for a leg! Ortis is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ortis manages to kick Hurt off! Hurt jumps back into Ortis's guard.

Hurt is nestled in close to Ortis, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Hurt seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Hurt is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ortis doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hurt.
Hurt tries to pass to full mount but Ortis defends it.
Hurt looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Ortis with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Hurt is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ortis defends it well.

Ortis takes a kick to the side of the head.
Hurt shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ortis but Ortis pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Hurt drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Ortis shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Hurt looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Ortis is defending well. Hurt quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Ortis has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Hurt celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
