The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haggerty tries to score a power double leg takedown but Van Der Dick sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Haggerty somewhat.
Haggerty throws a head kick but Van Der Dick moves out of range.

Haggerty drives through and clinches with Van Der Dick against the cage.

Haggerty manages to pull guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Haggerty tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Van Der Dick swivels and escapes.

Van Der Dick has hold of Haggerty's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Haggerty seems comfortable defending it but Van Der Dick has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Haggerty is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Haggerty is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Van Der Dick couldn't care less - he's delighted!
