Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Tames (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sem Shilt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tames comes to the cage accompanied by "The Distance" by Cake. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Roberts and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shilt throws a right and a left that both miss.
Tames is trying hard to land a takedown here. Shilt sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Tames takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Shilt misses with a head kick.
Shilt slips under a jab from Tames.
Tames fails in his attempt to clinch.
Shilt tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Shilt connects with a high kick.
Tames stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Shilt.

Shilt throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Tames.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Shilt throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Shilt has Tames up against the cage in a clinch.

Shilt has Tames pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Tames manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Shilt has clasped his hands together around Tames's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Shilt decides to stand back up. Shilt steps back and let's Tames get back to his feet.
Horrible takedown by Tames or perhaps it was just good defense by Shilt which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Tames. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Shilt goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
It looks like James Tames has been cut.
Tames shoots in looking for a takedown. Shilt tries to sprawl out of it but Tames keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shilt manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Shilt fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tames, pushing him back against the cage.
Shilt lands a knee to the head.

Shilt jumps guard but Tames stands there with Shilt around his waist. Shilt gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Shilt pulls Tames into guard.
Shilt manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Tames on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Tames. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Shilt lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Shilt throws a sloppy head kick and Tames moves out of range easily.
Shilt fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tames, pushing him back against the cage.
Shilt breaks from the clinch.
Shilt lets loose with a powerful body kick. Tames will feel that in the morning.
Sem Shilt is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Shilt instigates a clinch.
Shilt manages to break the clinch.
Shilt throws a front kick that sends Tames stumbling back into the cage.

Shilt breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
An inside leg kick lands from Shilt.

Shilt scores with the left hand. Tames knows he should have avoided that one.
Tames takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Tames tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Shilt explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Tames takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Shilt pushes Tames up against the cage in a clinch.
Shilt pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Tames tries to keep at a distance but Shilt has taken the fight into the clinch.
Shilt fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Shilt jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Tames walks away with a smile on his face. Shilt gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Tames tries for a takedown but Shilt circles away easily
and Shilt counters with a nice body kick.
Shilt moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Shilt lands a jab to the nose.
Shilt thuds his shin into the meat of Tames's side.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shilt lands a big head kick that sends Tames tumbling to the mat! Shilt takes a step backwards and waves Tames back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Tames is rocked!
Shilt scores with a spinning back kick!
Oh Tames is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Whack! Shilt lands a heavy head kick that drops Tames. The ref tackles Shilt to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Tames was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Sem Shilt!
