Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Terence Romeo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vincent Villanova (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Vincent Villanova!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Villanova is defended easily by Romeo.
Villanova looks for a takedown but Romeo sprawls well.

Villanova closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Villanova lands in his opponent's guard.
Villanova wants to get up but he can't break Romeo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Romeo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Romeo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Romeo drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Villanova manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Romeo has Villanova in his guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Terence Romeo will probably get the nod.

Villanova fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Romeo manages to avoid it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Villanova fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Romeo, pushing him back against the cage.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Romeo shoots in for a takedown but Villanova shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Villanova wants to control from the top but Romeo keeps moving.
Romeo is looking to stand up but Villanova isn't so interested in that idea.

Vincent Villanova showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

and Romeo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Villanova's guard.

Romeo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Villanova swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Romeo drops back, looking for a kneebar! Villanova looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Villanova looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Villanova!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Let's hope that Villanova has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Villanova wants to lay and pray for a moment but Romeo keeps working.

Despite being in the dominant position, Vincent Villanova just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Romeo bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Romeo has hold of Villanova's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Villanova seems comfortable defending it but Romeo has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Villanova is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Villanova is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Romeo couldn't care less - he's delighted!
