Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

That has opened up Lucifer Kane's cut even more.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Layfield wants to get up but he can't break Kane's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Layfield stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kane swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Layfield controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Layfield wanted to stand there but Kane had control of the position.
Layfield is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Kane is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Layfield has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Kane is proving hard to escape from.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Layfield keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Kane dives in and grabs Layfield's left leg, looking for a takedown. Layfield pushes down on Kane's head and hops out.
Kane takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Kane takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

The cut above Lucifer Kane's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Oooh a lovely combination from Layfield sends Kane down but not out. Layfield dives into side control looking to finish.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Layfield decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kane to his feet.
Kane shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Layfield as he avoids it easily.

Layfield connects with a superb combination that knocks Kane out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Layfield before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Kane!
