PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Charles Stiles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seek Destroy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stiles comes to the cage accompanied by Sound Off. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stiles keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Destroy closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Destroy works his foot free and advances to mount.
Destroy controlling the position easily from mount.
Stiles is trying to escape the mount.
Stiles blocking the ground and pound.

Destroy looking to control but Stiles is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Destroy avoids the attempt from Stiles to control.
Stiles is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

Destroy trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Stiles holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Destroy tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Stiles is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Destroy controlling from mount.

Destroy looking to finish with strikes here!
Destroy throwing strikes here but Stiles is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Stiles is working to get back to half guard.

Destroy moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Stiles has worked his arm free - good work by Stiles!
Stiles struggling a bit here.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Destroy controls the position from side control.
Stiles is looking for a sweep.
Destroy takes a little break here. Stiles wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Stiles fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Charles Stiles is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Stiles lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Horrible takedown by Destroy or perhaps it was just good defense by Stiles which made him look bad.

Stiles shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Destroy is trying to defend but Stiles finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Destroy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Stiles is trying to control but can't.
Destroy content to control rather than advance.

Destroy is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Stiles trying to hold on to Destroy's head to control him but Destroy postures up.

Destroy trying to control from half guard but Stiles is working away.
Stiles wants to get back to full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Destroy drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Stiles is looking for a sweep.

Destroy decides to stand back up.

Stiles looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Destroy is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Stiles defends well.
Destroy is breathing heavily.
Destroy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A close second round but Seek Destroy will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Destroy with a poor takedown

and Stiles counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Destroy is trying to control the position but Stiles postures up.
Destroy tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Destroy trying to keep a closed guard but Stiles is proving a slippery customer.
Stiles is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Stiles pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Destroy is keeping the position for now.
Destroy has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Destroy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Stiles is one step ahead there.
Destroy wants to control the position but Stiles says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Stiles looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Stiles thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Destroy is not content to let Stiles control the position.
Destroy moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Stilesis looking to pass into half guard but Destroy pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Destroy is in guard.

Destroy trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Destroy wants to control from the top but Stiles keeps moving.

Destroy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Destroy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Destroy takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Destroy sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Stiles trying to keep a closed guard but Destroy is proving a slippery customer.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Destroy sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Stiles's guard.

Destroy is looking for a kimura but Stiles is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Destroy to get the leverage.
Destroy wants to control but Stiles is keeping him busy.
Stiles is trying to maintain the position but Destroy is very close to passing his half guard.
Charles Stiles has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
