The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tokic takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Public finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Tokic shoots in looking for a takedown. Public tries to sprawl out of it but Tokic keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Public manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Tokic scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Public wants to get back to his feet.
Tokic wants to control but Public is keeping him busy.
Public pushes Tokic off looking to stand but Tokic dives back in and keeps control.

It looks like Ivan Tokic has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tokic throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Public's waist but Public gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tokic off to one side.
A nice leg kick lands there from Public.

Public tries to clinch but Tokic is having none of it.

Public lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Tokic fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Public displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tokic.
Tokic tries to score a power double leg takedown but Public sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tokic somewhat.

Tokic has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Public finds it's way round the side to connect with Tokic's head.
Public leaves Tokic with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Public closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Tokic looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Public tries to clinch there but Tokic circles away.
Tokic avoids the head kick by Public.

Public rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Tokic moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Public stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Public wants it to stay on the feet.

Public lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tokic circles away quickly and effectively.

Public does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Public throws a right and a left that both miss.
Tokic shoots in for a double leg but Public sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Tokic takes a jab right on the kisser.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Tokic.
Public goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Tokic looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Public is fending him off so far but Tokic persists. Nope, Public circles away and we're back to standing.

Tokic can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Public is looking to escape.

Public has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
Public is trying to get back to his feet but Tokic has full control of the position and if anything, Public has just worked his way into a worse spot.
