Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shawn Duffe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Lopez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lopez has chosen man in the mirror as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Shimada.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duffe throws a head kick but Lopez moves out of range.
Lopez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Duffe circles away.

Duffe shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Duffe seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Lopez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Duffe is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Duffe stands and steps away. Lopez gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Duffe throws a nice looking combination but Lopez bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Duffe is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Duffe tries a head kick but it misses.

Duffe shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Lopez wants to control but Duffe is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Lopez looks like he's trying to stand up.
Duffe is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Lopez tries to roll over but Duffe keeps him under control.
Duffe tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Duffe doesn't manage to clinch there - Lopez circles away.
Lopez doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Duffe counters with a big head kick but Lopez shrugs it off.

and Duffe counters with a body kick.

Duffe shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Duffe was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Duffe will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Lopez really wants to buck Duffe off and get back to his feet.

Duffe really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

and Duffe counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Shawn Duffe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricardo Lopez.

Duffe gets to his feet. Lopez looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

and Duffe decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lopez's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Duffe is looking to stand up but Lopez won't let him.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Lopez tries to reverse the position but Duffe maintains control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ricardo Lopez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Shawn Duffe is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lopez's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
