Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Duncan Higgins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Ming Chang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 1 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Duncan Higgins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Dave Ming Chang!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Ackerman and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Higgins is looking to clinch.

Ming Chang feints and as Higgins raises his hands in defense, Ming Chang changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Higgins looking for a sweep. Not yet Higgins, not yet.
Ming Chang controls from within his opponent's guard.
Ming Chang working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Ming Chang stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Higgins swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Higgins trying to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Higgins utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Ming Chang thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Ming Chang tries to free his leg and advance position but Higgins is retaining full guard.
Ming Chang controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Higgins looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ming Chang is one step ahead there.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ming Chang misses with a two punch combination.
Ming Chang throws out a powerful jab.
Ming Chang lands a lovely overhand right.

Ming Chang shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Higgins's guard.
Higgins trying to keep a closed guard but Ming Chang is proving a slippery customer.
Higgins tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Ming Chang tries to free his leg and advance position but Higgins is retaining full guard.
Higgins not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Higgins is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ming Chang is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Ming Chang will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Ming Chang shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ming Chang was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Ming Chang has control of Higgins's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Higgins regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Ming Chang sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Higgins wants to control but Ming Chang is having none of it.
Higgins knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Ming Chang on the ground.
Ming Chang prevents Higgins from getting the reversal.
Higgins tries to hold on but Ming Chang pushes him away.
Ming Chang lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Higgins hang on?

Ming Chang goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Higgins is on top in guard.

Higgins got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ming Chang has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Higgins has managed to get both his arms back between Ming Chang's legs - danger averted.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Ming Chang is looking for a triangle but Higgins pushes his legs off easily.

Higgins wants to control from the top but Ming Chang keeps moving.
Ming Chang controls Higgins momentarily but Higgins frees himself.

Higgins avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Ming Chang lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Higgins!

Ming Chang wants to control the pace but Higgins is squirming around nicely.
Higgins is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Ming Chang trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Ming Chang cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Ming Chang is landing with some decent strikes but Higgins is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

That's six minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Ming Chang can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Higgins is looking to escape.
Higgins is trying to escape the mount.
Higgins is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Higgins is trying desperately to improve position.
Ming Chang content just to control the position here.

Ming Chang goes for an armbar but Higgins turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Higgins.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ming Chang looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Higgins has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Ming Chang to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Higgins is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Ming Chang pulls down on the head and he's put Higgins to sleep! This one is all over!
