Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Davey Newsome (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joel Ball (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ball has chosen Whats My Name as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newsome misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Newsome closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ball to the mat! Ball manages to get full guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ball connects with a nice short shot to Newsome's temple.
