Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Blankenhoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Hungus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kyle Blankenhoff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carl Hungus!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Paulo Santos and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hungus will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hungus gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Blankenhoff stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hungus swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Hungus wants to sweep but no luck.
Hungus throwing strikes off his back to little effect.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hungus controls Blankenhoff momentarily but Blankenhoff frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Blankenhoff shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hungus pinned against the cage. Hungus gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Blankenhoff looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Hungus!

Blankenhoff fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Hungus tries to reverse the position but Blankenhoff maintains control.
Blankenhoff cracks Hungus with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Hungus tries to hold on but Blankenhoff pushes him away.
Hungus has worked his way to half guard, taking advantage of Blankenhoff's lack of action.
Hungus manages to get to full guard.

Blankenhoff wants to control from the top but Hungus keeps moving.
Blankenhoff is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Blankenhoff is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Blankenhoff forces his way into half guard.
Hungus is trying to maintain the position but Blankenhoff is very close to passing his half guard.
Blankenhoff could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Well, if Blankenhoff is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Blankenhoff stalling.
Blankenhoff wants to pass to mount but Hungus is defending the position.
Blankenhoff looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Hungus wants to control but Blankenhoff is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Kyle Blankenhoff just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Blankenhoff looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Hungus tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Blankenhoff shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hungus pinned against the cage. Hungus gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Blankenhoff changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hungus looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Blankenhoff goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hungus rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Blankenhoff's guard! Nice work there by Hungus!

Blankenhoff manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hungus manages to get himself to full guard.

Carl Hungus showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Blankenhoff holds on and takes a little breather.

Carl Hungus comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hungus has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
