Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Robert Eins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Grice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Robert Eins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Gary Grice!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Eins misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Eins shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Grice as he avoids it easily.

Eins changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Grice looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee asks Eins politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Eins prefers to stall for the moment though.
Eins wants to lay and pray for a moment but Grice keeps working.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Grice can do anything to dispel that myth.
Grice tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Eins wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Grice is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Eins sees it coming and defends easily.

Grice thows a huge punch but Eins dodges it nicely.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Grice is looking for a triangle but Eins pushes his legs off easily.

Grice has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Eins is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Grice.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Grice is working to get back to half guard.
Eins manages to capitalize on a mistake by Grice to take his back!
Grice rolls, trying to escape but Eins keeps control of the position.
What can Grice do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Eins has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Eins dives in and grabs Grice's left leg, looking for a takedown. Grice pushes down on Eins's head and hops out.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

so Eins counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Robert Eins overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Grice is breathing heavily.
Eins pushes down on Grice's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Eins uses his free foot to push down on Grice's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Grice.

Eins tries to keep control of the position but Grice is staying busy.

Grice is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Eins.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Eins gets caught flat footed, as Grice shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Eins keeping full guard, as Grice tries to pass.
Grice throws a strike but Eins rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Grice not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Eins shoots in for a double leg but Grice sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Grice is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Eins jumps into side control!

Grice tries to roll but Eins sticks to his back.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Eins, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
