Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eric Adams!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Adams throws a series of punches but Mortero moves out of range.
A punch combination from Adams misses.
Adams misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Adams looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Adams misses with a double jab.
Adams fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Adams misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Adams throws a series of punches but Mortero moves out of range.
Adams has a takedown stuffed.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Horrible takedown by Adams or perhaps it was just good defense by Mortero which made him look bad.
Albert Mortero has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Adams.
Adams looks gassed!
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Adams checks a leg kick.
Adams shoots in and drives through. Mortero sprawls well.
Adams is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mortero steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Adams.
Mortero uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Adams.
Mortero takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Adams throws a right and a left that both miss.
Adams fails to land with a series of punches.
Mortero looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Mortero!
Adams misses with a series of wild punches.
Mortero turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Adams chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Mortero can pounce on him.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mortero lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Adams circles away quickly and effectively.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A solid leg kick lands there for Mortero.
Mortero shoots for a double leg takedown but Adams sprawls well. He's pushed Mortero's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mortero throws a leg kick which misses Adams's front leg but catches the back leg as Adams tries to avoid it.
Eric Adams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mortero closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Mortero decides to stand back up. Mortero steps back and let's Adams get back to his feet.
Good leg kick by Mortero there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Adams has his takedown stuffed
and Mortero counters with a thumping low kick.
Adams throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Mortero counters with a nice low kick that buckles Adams's knee momentarily.
Adams tries to bum rush Mortero with a series of wild strikes but Mortero uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Mortero counters with a takedown into side control.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mortero working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Mortero sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Adams is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Adams stops Mortero from passing to mount.
Mortero working the strikes but Adams uses the opportunity to regain half guard.

Adams actively working from the bottom here.
Mortero is just content to waste time from the top position. Adams takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Adams is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Mortero has his hands clasped together but Adams extends an breaks Mortero's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Adams.
