Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pika Kalei (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Ripper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kalei might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to New York. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ripper misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ripper lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

It looks like Pika Kalei has been cut.
Kalei keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ripper.
Nice defenses there by Kalei.
Kalei works over Ripper's head and body with a nice combination.
Ripper slips under a jab.
Kalei swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Ripper.
Kalei looks to land a combination but Ripper avoids it well.
Kalei is looking to clinch.

Kalei closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kalei is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Ripper is trying to escape and Kalei transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Ripper is forced to tap! Nice work there by Kalei! Very nice indeed!
