PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Donald Kerabatsos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Turtle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Emerson Jorge and Mauricio Rocha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turtle changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kerabatsos tries to avoid it but Turtle manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kerabatsos to the ground. Kerabatsos escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kerabatsos tries to score with a low kick but Turtle moves his leg out of the way.
Turtle shoots in for a takedown but Kerabatsos shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Kerabatsos keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Donald Kerabatsos has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Turtle.

Turtle darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Kerabatsos tries to roll over but Turtle keeps him under control.
Turtle not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Turtle looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Turtle is trying to control the action in half guard but Kerabatsos is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Turtle thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Turtle is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Turtle is trying to control the action in half guard but Kerabatsos is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Turtle is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Turtle shoots for a takedown but Kerabatsos saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Turtle looks gassed!
Kerabatsos misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kerabatsos throws a lazy right hand but Turtle sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Donald Kerabatsos is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Good shot there by Turtle.
Kerabatsos throws a sloppy head kick and Turtle moves out of range easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Turtle gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Kerabatsos tries a head kick but it misses.
Kerabatsos throws a leg kick but Turtle checks it.
Kerabatsos connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Kerabatsos misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Turtle is defended easily by Kerabatsos.
Kerabatsos misses the shot to the body.
Kerabatsos throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Turtle on the side of the head.
Turtle is looking to clinch.
Good standup being displayed there by Kerabatsos as he connects with a hook.
Kerabatsos throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
A nice inside leg kick there by Kerabatsos. That's going to slow Turtle down.

Kerabatsos turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Kerabatsos throws a head kick that half lands.

Turtle is rocked!
Turtle walks straight into a right hand from Kerabatsos - that's dropped him! Kerabatsos jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Turtle from any more punishment! Turtle complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
