Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ronnie Ross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyler Valor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ronnie Ross could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Tyler Valor's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ronnie Ross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tyler Valor!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Columbo Gatti and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ross throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Valor was covering up waiting for the punch and Ross finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Ross throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Valor works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Valor has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ross can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Ross drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Valor dives on top into guard.
Ross wants to sweep here but Valor controlling him for the moment.
Valor slips nicely into half guard.
Valor tries to stand but can't do so whilst Ross controls his leg.
Ross avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Valor.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Ross keeping hold of Valor's head, controlling as best he can.

Valor is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Ross is trying to maintain the position but Valor is very close to passing his half guard.
Ross is looking for a sweep. Valor is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Valor gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Ross postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Ross works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Valor really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ross. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Valor takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Ross creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Valor sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Valor is looking to regain half guard here but Ross keeps moving and retains side control.

Valor shoots for a takedown but Ross saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Valor is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A slapping body kick lands there for Valor.

and Valor counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Valor has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ross is proving hard to escape from.

Ross had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Valor defends it easily.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Valor throws a strike but Ross rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Ross drops back looking for a leg! Valor is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Valor manages to kick Ross off! Ross jumps back into Valor's guard.
Ross stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Valor swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Ross doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Valor counters with a takedown into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ross regains half guard.
Ross wants to improve his position but Valor is controlling well.

Valor decides to return to a standing position.
Valor shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ross pinned against the cage. Ross gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Ross feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

I think Valor has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
