Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Matheus Dutra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phillip Ziskie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dutra comes to the cage accompanied by meteoro. Phillip Ziskie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matheus Dutra!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Phillip Ziskie!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Eliza Hachem and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dutra fails with a takedown attempt.

Dutra pushes Ziskie up against the cage in a clinch.
Ziskie is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Dutra wants a takedown but no success here.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Matheus Dutra. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dutra is breathing heavily.
Dutra digs a right hand underneath Ziskie's ribcage. Ziskie let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Ziskie has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Dutra is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Dutra jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ziskie walks away with a smile on his face. Dutra gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Dutra counters with a head kick. That will keep Ziskie thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Dutra gets caught flat footed, as Ziskie shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Ziskie controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Ziskie is stalling in the full guard.
Let's hope that Ziskie has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ziskie accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ziskie is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Ziskie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ziskie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Ziskie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dutra swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Dutra fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Dutra swats away the attempt to clinch by Ziskie.

Ziskie bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Ziskie stands up and beckons Dutra to his feet.
Dutra tries to clinch there but Ziskie circles away.
Dutra tries to clinch but Ziskie is having none of it.
Dutra keeps the fight on the outside.
Ziskie throws a chopping leg kick but Dutra manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Ziskie misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Dutra doesn't manage to clinch there - Ziskie circles away.
Ziskie shoots in but Dutra avoids the takedown attempt easily.

and Ziskie counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Ziskie stands up and waves to Dutra to follow him.
Dutra takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Dutra shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Ziskie counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Dutra really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dutra is looking for a triangle but Ziskie pushes his legs off easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Dutra is looking to stand back up but Ziskie counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Dutra.
Ziskie throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Phillip Ziskie dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Ziskie shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ziskie showed some decent athleticism there.

Ziskie really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dutra. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Dutra is looking to stand up but Ziskie isn't so interested in that idea.
Ziskie must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Dutra closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dutra lands in his opponent's guard.

Ziskie has control of Dutra's left arm, preventing Dutra from doing any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Dutra dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Ziskie. That did some damage!

Ziskie stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ziskie wants it to stay on the feet.
Ziskie looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dutra is fending him off so far but Ziskie persists. Nope, Dutra circles away and we're back to standing.
Dutra tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ziskie swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Matheus Dutra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phillip Ziskie.
Ziskie throws a push kick but Dutra slaps the foot to one side.
No luck for Ziskie with that takedown attempt.
Dutra lands with a kick to the temple. Ziskie shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Ziskie throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Dutra stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Matheus Dutra seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ziskie slaps away a takedown attempt from Dutra, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Dutra keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ziskie lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Ziskie tries to clinch up but Dutra circles away and keeps his distance.

I would just about give that final round to Phillip Ziskie.
