Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Luis Cordoba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones fails with an attempt to clinch.
A head kick misses from Cordoba.
Jones shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Cordoba defends it nicely.
Cordoba throws a sloppy head kick and Jones moves out of range easily.

Jones closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Cordoba looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there.

Jones must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Jones is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Cordoba can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Jones controls the pace.
Jones stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Cordoba has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Jones manages to get his head free but now Cordoba has transitioned to an armbar! Jones grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Cordoba! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
