PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between San Cou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Travis Westfield (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Westfield has chosen Superbeast as his entrance music. Travis Westfield told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, San Cou!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Travis Westfield!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Shirou Masuda and Taro Takaoka.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab lands there for Cou.

Cou closes the distance and pushes Westfield back into the cage.

Westfield turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Westfield manages to end up in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Westfield is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Cou has escaped the position, nice work there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Westfield thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Westfield has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Westfield goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Cou turns into him and now he's in Westfield's guard.
Westfield looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Cou tries to stand but Westfield is controlling from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Westfield manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cou manages to get himself to full guard.

Westfield drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Cou dives on top into guard.

Cou has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Westfield to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Cou is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Westfield pulls down on the head and he's put Cou to sleep! This one is all over!
