Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gegard Mousasi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones has chosen The faint- Glass dance as his entrance music. Ken Jones looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gegard Mousasi !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ken Jones!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mousasi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jones trying to strike off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mousasi missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Mousasi wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.
Mousasi pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jones is keeping the position for now.
Jones wants to sweep here but Mousasi controlling him for the moment.

Mousasi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mousasi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Mousasi drops back looking for a leg! Jones is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jones manages to kick Mousasi off! Mousasi jumps back into Jones's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Mousasi will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Mousasi closes the distance and clinches up with Jones, looking for a takedown. Mousasi pushes Jones against the cage but Jones circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Jones tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mousasi sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jones somewhat.
Jones shoots in for a takedown but Mousasi shows good takedown defense.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Jones avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mousasi shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gegard Mousasi . That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mousasi is breathing heavily.

Jones closes the distance and clinches.
Jones prevents the takedown attempt.
Jones tries for a takedown. No joy.
Mousasi tries to pull guard but Jones won't allow it.

Mousasi manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Mousasi is trying to control the position but Jones postures up.

Jones decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mousasi , up you get!
Horrible takedown by Jones or perhaps it was just good defense by Mousasi which made him look bad.

Mousasi gets the takedown into side control.

Mousasi tries to move into full mount but can't pass Jones's legs.
Jones looking for a sweep but Mousasi has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Mousasi lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Jones hang on?
Mousasi looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

Mousasi working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Mousasi avoids the attempt from Jones to control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Jones working to try and regain half guard.
Jones is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Jones wants to control but Mousasi is having none of it.
Jones suckers Mousasi into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Jones is now in Mousasi 's guard!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Mousasi doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Jones counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Jones.
Mousasi is trying to control the position but Jones postures up.

Mousasi is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Jones slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Jones working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Mousasi 's head.
Mousasi wants to stand and escape but Jones is having none of it.
Mousasi will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Jones is stalling in the full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jones forces his way into half guard.
Mousasi punching from the bottom.
Mousasi landing rabbit punches to the side of Jones's head. Not doing much damage but still scoring a few points.
Mousasi wants to get back to full guard.
Mousasi wants to get back to his feet.
Jones trying to mount his opponent but Mousasi defends it.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jones is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Mousasi has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Jones is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Mousasi .
Jones staying calm.
Mousasi is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jones is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Mousasi gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Mousasi is looking to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Jones trying to mount his opponent but Mousasi defends it.
Jones stops Mousasi from getting back to his feet.
Jones is pressing down on Mousasi 's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mousasi is holding on for now.
Jones prevents Mousasi from improving his position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mousasi gets full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ken Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Mousasi unloads with some shots from mount but Jones bucks and avoids them well.
Mousasi breaks from Jones's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Jones is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Jones is trying to escape the mount.
Mousasi throwing strikes here but Jones is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Jones tries to reverse the position but Mousasi maintains control.
Jones tries to hold on but Mousasi pushes him away.
Mousasi looking to control but Jones is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Mousasi looking for a guillotine from mount but Jones is having none of it.
Jones has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Mousasi is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Jones has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Jones is covering up but some of the strikes from Mousasi are getting through and doing damage.
Jones tries to roll but Mousasi sticks to his back.
Mousasi struggling to land strikes to the head as Jones covers up.
Mousasi scores with punches to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jones tries to break free.
Jones is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Mousasi is persistently looking for the submission but Jones is defending it well.

Mousasi is working hard for the rear naked choke here.

Mousasi working for a choke but Jones is defending well.

Mousasi looking for the choke but no joy.
Jones manages to reverse the position and now he's in Mousasi 's guard. Nice work there by Jones.

Gegard Mousasi showed his dominance in that final round.
