Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hulk Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dennis Rodman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and George Francis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodman throws a low kick, looking for Hogan's leg but Hogan calmly moves out of range.

Rodman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hogan tries to avoid it but Rodman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hogan to the ground. Hogan escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Hogan is keen to just control but Rodman is a slippery customer.

Rodman is trying to maintain the position but Hogan is very close to passing his half guard.
Hogan takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Rodman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rodman scores with a kick to the midsection.

Hogan shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Rodman manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Hogan wants to pass the guard but Rodman is keeping the position.
Hogan postures up in Rodman's guard and throws a big left but Rodman blocks it.

Hogan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Rodman is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hogan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rodman on the ground.

That was a close round but I would say that Hulk Hogan will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hogan stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Hogan wants it to stay on the feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Hulk Hogan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dennis Rodman.
Hogan is stalling here. Rodman is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Hogan seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Rodman has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
